Summary of this page

Dr Rehena Ahmed’s enthusiasm in Women’s Health started from her position of being a women’s health advocate. In order to provide an excellent level of health care to fellow women, she dedicated her time to a rigorous training programme in Australia and obtained the specialist qualification in Obstetrics and Gynaecology (FRANZCOG) in 2014. Soon after that, she felt the need of solidifying her passion towards advanced laparoscopic surgery by gaining a Masters in Minimally Invasive Surgery (MMIS).

Rehena is a strong believer in achieving most of the gynaecological surgeries through a Minimally Invasive approach as part of the Enhanced Recovery Program and has been able to provide such care to most of her patients.

She provides care for women of all different age groups in various clinical areas such as endometriosis, menstrual problems, infertility, cervical screening abnormalities, prolapse, incontinence and menopausal issues through a range of medical and surgical therapies. Her primary focus remains in achievement of excellence and optimisation of patient satisfaction by pursuing a holistic approach to women’s health needs.

Rehena consults and operates in the Maitland Private Hospital. She is also a Staff Specialist in the Maitland Public Hospital where she has a public operating list. Throughout these years, she has been involved in the teaching of undergraduates and postgraduate level trainees. She is also the current Chairman of the Maternal and Perinatal Morbidity and Mortality Meetings in the Maitland Hospital.
